FULBE OF NIGERIA (FUL-bay). The Fulbe Team thanks you for praying for the Annual Northeast Baptist Conference that was held in February. Several churches have committed to help with Fulbe ministry this year. Plans are being made to train these churches in the “Creation to Christ” evangelism method that has been very effective with Muslim peoples. Also in the planning stages is the selection of specific villages for outreach. Pray that this training will be effective in bringing many Fulbe to Christ. Also ask God to open doors and enable the Fulbe Team and Nigerian Baptists to enter the villages that they want to reach. Most importantly, pray that they will be led by the Spirit of God and follow His plan.
50 DAYS OF PRAYER FOR CUBA. A retired pastor walks the mountainous countryside for hours each day. He stops at homes and along the way to tell everyone he meets the good news of Jesus. Last year he made 2,640 visits, all on foot, to share the gospel. That is an average of 220 visits per month, and about seven visits per day--and he is 88 years old! “Pray that the Lord will lengthen my life, to be able to keep working in the Lord’s service,” he asks. “Pray that Cuba might be won to Christ,” he adds. As Cuban Baptists are in the midst of the “50 Days of Prayer for Cuba” emphasis, please ask the Lord for 1 million Cubans to come to Christ, and for a church to be started within walking distance of each one during the next three years. Pray for others, like this retired pastor, who daily share their faith with those in Cuba who do not know Christ. fiftydaysofprayer@50dias.org
LAST FRONTIER. “When a farmer puts a tiny seed in the ground, covers it with dirt, and continues to water it, he is not always worried about that individual seed sprouting because he has planted so many in his fields. But when an overseas worker plants a truth in a heart, he knows he might not ever see that person again in order to cover that truth and water it. So the worker worries that the seed might never sprout in that individual’s heart, and he worries about the rocks/obstacles in the way and the birds/enemy who want to devour the seed. But we praise God continually for His promise that His Word will not return void! Would you join so many of us workers who are planting seeds in hearts and pray that these truths will be watered and will sprout and grow into a marvelous plant that glorifies God? Pray for seeds planted in both believing and unbelieving hearts, for God is still tending the plants that have started growing in His garden.”
